BSNL announces the tariff for DataOne service

BSNL is all set to launch its DataOne broadband services. Soon to be introduced in 198 cities, the services shall be provided on the existing copper infrastructure. Subsequent to high speed internet service, other services such as VPN, multicasting, video conferencing, video-on-demand and broadcast application shall also be added. Broadband service will be provided through the deployment of ADSL technology,a type of digital subscriber line used for residential lines. This is an introductory promotional tariff valid for a period of six months from the launch date.

For all the Broadband plans, Dynamic IP addresses shall be given. In case of DIAS customers, who are likely to switch to ADSL broadband service, the transfer of security deposit to ADSL is permitted. Billing for the service will be included in the regular b-fone bill. While the monthly charges shall be collected in advance, the usage charges can be paid in arrears. As an incentive, BSNL offers customers an opportunity to test the service for both home and business plans.Customers who subscribe before March 31, 2005, needn't pay the additional usage charges, which will not be levied upto June 30, 2005.
